Krul tips Toon New boys to Inspire Side to Glory
February 15, 2013
Newcastle goalkeeper, Tim Krul, has hailed the recent arrivals at the club and has tipped them to inspire his side in the second half of the season.
After surprising every one last term by finishing fifth in the Premier League table, the Magpies were expected to continue in very much the same vein this time around and even possibly push for a Champions League place.
However, things have not gone to plan for Alan Pardew’s men, as a host of injuries to key players at crucial times saw them plummet down the standings and, at one stage, fans who bet on football had predicted a relegation battle for the Magpies.
Their troubles saw Pardew once again delve into the French market in order to find some top quality reinforcements and it already looks as if he has chosen wisely, with the likes of Moussa Sissoko and Mathieu Debuchy quickly establishing themselves as regulars in the Toon line-up.
Krul admits that he has been pleased with how the new imports have adapted to life in the North East and expects his team to now surge back up to the upper reaches of the table in the coming months.
“We have had a really hard time during the first half of the season, but with these new faces coming in, it gives us a massive boost and a lot of confidence,” he said to the Premier League betting news. “We have still got a lot of hard games to play, but we can go into those games with a lot of confidence.
“They have been fantastic. Normally, you see with new players, they take a bit of time to settle. But these lads, from the moment they walked into the club, they have been great for us.”
